Hello,
With the base Postgres Product, Is there a way to let the Operating System deal with authenticating a user's connection and remove the burden of creating, communicating and freqently changing the password for each role/user?
If not possible, please suggest some reliable and easy to use extensions/3rd party tools to achieve the same.
In short, we the DBAs do not want to be responsible for password management. I am grateful for any pointers.

One could user RADIUS authentication as well. We have used it successfully.
