The Situation: We're using Rod Taylor's "autodoc" package to generate documentation for the database schema and the pl/pgsql functions The Problem: Some of the object names (ID attributes) get pretty long, particularly when the function name was pretty long and there are a whole bunch of variables. On some systems, the DocBook preamble sets NAMELEN to 44. With the result that OpenJade refuses to process the resulting document because there are attributes longer than that size. We could get the ./configure script to rummage around for DocBook 4.2 configuration, and yell at the user if it finds NAMELEN = 44. But we'd sure like to have some better option, such as having a replacement .dcl file that we could use to overlay the "distribution" one. This evidently plagues people running RHAT and SUSE distributions. -- (format nil "~S@~S" "cbbrowne" "acm.org") http://www.ntlug.org/~cbbrowne/sap.html Rules of the Evil Overlord #78.
