Adrian, With the semicolon at the end of the line it's the last line in the file. That's why I asked for help in finding where, in all the lines above it, the actual error is located. FWIW, I use emacs, not vim. I'll try inserting the data a few lines at a time, each in a transaction. Thanks, Rich
