Matthew,

I did the same but I made a few changes:

1. Imposed the linux_elf template in the configure command.

2. Edit the src/interfaces/lipgtcl/Makefile to include  -L/usr/lib -lcrypt=
 at
the line that defines LIBPQ ie
LIBPQ=3D -L(SRCDIR)/interfaces/libpq -lpq   -L/usr/lib -lcrypt

3. This compiled the shared library libpgtcl.so.1 with the crypt object
resolved.

I had one problem which was apparently caused by the -O2 option of gcc.  I
just
went back and repeated the compile (ie gcc command) with -O instead and
everything seems to be fine.

Another option would be to go into src/Makefile.global and edit the -O2 to=
 -O
and compile.

I hope this is of some help.
