I'm having troubles to connect via the .NET ODBC provider and I don't know
if it is a problem of the Postgres ODBC Driver or the problem is in the
ODBC provider of Microsoft.

I haven't tried with vb.NET, but I have written a C# example which is on
http://odbc.postgresql.org which may help. I know it's a different language,
but it's using the .NET ODBC Provider, and the .NET Framework so may be of
use to you.
