You will need a whole lot more information than that in order to do capacity planning. Here are a few questions to get you started -What is the expected percentage of read vs write transactions. -Are they small OLTP style writes, or larger ones? -Do you expect these transactions to be equally distributed over the day, or do you expect bursts? -Are you going to be dealing with highly concurrent access, or is it distributed? -what is the expected cache hit ratio? -what is the expected data size? What is the expected growth rate? -- Brad Nicholson 416-673-4106 Database Administrator, Afilias Canada Corp.
