OK, I found the answer:
$ lsb_release --short --codename
squeeze

I suggest we use:
http://apt.postgresql.org/pub/repos/apt/ `lsb_release --short --codename`-pgdg main
That way, it auto-detects the codename. This works on Debian and Ubuntu.
