Hello,

I wasn’t sure which mailing list was most appropriate for this question,
apologies if this isn’t the right place. I decided to ask here.

I recently created a PostgreSQL community account and I'm trying to
log in to commitfest.postgresql.org to participate in the current
CommitFest. However, I still get the following message:

"The site you are trying to log in to (commitfest.postgresql.org)
requires a cool-off period between account creation and logging in.
You have not passed the cool off period yet."

I created my account a few days ago (around September 2, 2025) using
this email address.
Could you please let me know how long this cool-off period lasts?
If possible, could you also expedite the activation of my account so
that I can log in?

Thanks!
____
Best regards,
Mikhail Kharitonov

This is indeed the right list, so you did well.

I believe the cool-off period is 14 days (but I could be wrong), and sadly
needed to combat SPAM accounts which pollute the data badly, but ideally an
admin will see your mail here and expedite the process.

Thanks for getting involved with PostgreSQL!

Hi Daniel,

Thank you very much for your quick reply and for clarifying the situation!
My account has now been activated, and I can log in
to commitfest successfully!

I really appreciate your help, and thanks to everyone
who assisted in activating my account.
