I try to use javamail within pljava.
In normal java environment my program works fine.
But if I do it in pljava I get:

MessagingException :javax.mail.NoSuchProviderException: No provider for smtp
	at javax.mail.Session.getProvider(Session.java:464)
	at javax.mail.Session.getTransport(Session.java:659)
	at javax.mail.Session.getTransport(Session.java:640)
	sendMail(sendMail.java:134)

Does anyone having experience with Javamail within pljava?

Herbrand Hofker

I assume that you'll have to ensure that your mail provider is installed. See, for example:
	http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/faq-135477.html#install

At first glance this looks like an issue with the service provider
mechanism. Try putting the service proder (javamail?) in the
pljava.classpath option in postgresql.conf.

Service providers are usually configured with files in
META-INF/services/ and these do not exist in the database.

The email provider is installed correctly.
It also works on the same server using java. But when I call same
procedure from pljava it get's the error.
I read somewhere (not pljava) a similar problem arose because of a
conflict between low level Java classes???
Can that be the case?

How did you install the provider?

Can you show us a minimal example that demonstrates the error?

This is unlikely.
