Thomas,
you have probably solved the problem, haven't you?
I added an example & test which allows executing any SELECT statement. This
function returns set of varchar containing
column names & classes in the first row
semicolon-separated values in all other rows
Using this function (executeSelect), I can test how the SPIResultSet works.

Ok. Good to have for the future. For this particular bug I added a
"javatest.getTimeAsString()" function to the examples package that is
hardcoded to execute a query for current time and return the first row
of the result as a string.
