Greetings,
I am working on a new architecture for a healthcare application, and I have
been defending the idea of using the capabilities of the db layer (that is
postgresql) to the max, with every single advantage that our choice of
technology can provide.
pl/java is in many ways a great option for my quite specific requirements,
but if I invest in it, I have to assume the same kind of stability I'd
expect from pl/pgsql, becuse I'd be placing my bets for on pl/java for key
application functionality.
So I'd appreciate your feedback about the maturity/stability of pljava. Is
it used in production servers in finance/healthcare? Is it used in any big
postgresql installations where uptime needs to be 99.99% ?

We've been using it solidly every day for about 6 years I think - seems
bullet-proof to me ;)

Hi Tim,
Thank you, this is exactly the kind of real life experience I wanted to
hear about. Do you mind letting me know about the type of tasks you perform
with pljava? I'm especially interested in the cases where networks
connections are used.
