Hi,
I am getting the following error:

java.sql.SQLException: ERROR: could not load library "C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.0/lib/pljava.dll": The specified module could not be found.

while trying to install pljava. I tried lot of things:

adding %JAVA_HOME%/bin;%JAVA_HOME%/bin/client to PATH.

Nothing seems to work. I always get the same error (shown above). I tried googling but nothing is working. Any help is really appreciated. I had
really high hopes on PL/Java when I read the documentation yesterday but today I am despondent.

Thanks
Ram

Hi Ram,
please note that it is the server path that needs this setting, not the path used by the SQL client.

Thomas Hallgren

%JAVA_HOME% should direct to jre_home
jvm.dll must be found in System environment variable %PATH%.

try it:
set PATH=%PATH%;%JAVA_HOME%\jre\bin;%JAVA_HOME%\jre\bin\client

and restart DB

Should I set the PATH variable to include %JAVA_HOME%/bin;%JAVA_HOME%/bin/client in a command window
and then start postmaster ? Will that solve the problem ? I will give it a try and let you know.

Thanks a lot

Ram

Hello Ram,

You should set PATH for system environment.

Control panel -> system ->

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/environment_variables...
