There are two overloaded replace_jar functions. One that takes an image of a jar (the first argument is a bytea) and another that takes the URL of a jar. Somehow, your PostgreSQL JDBC driver gets confused and selects the wrong one. What is the version of the JDBC driver? This is likely a bug in that driver.
