I think the issue duplicates https://github.com/pgjdbc/pgjdbc/issues/3107, so it is not like a "regression from 42.7.5 to 45.7.7", but it sounds like a long-standing "simple vs extended queries vs sync" issue to me, which probably surfaced by using `pgpool2 + pgjdbc autosave`.
