It think the documentation should state clearly, that postgres natively does
not have any UUID generation functions. You can use the `pgcrypto` or
`uuid-ossp` extensions though:
CREATE EXTENSION "pgcrypto"; /* enable pgcrypto extension */
SELECT public.gen_random_uuid(); /* -> uuid */
