Subject: Can't install patroni-consul on Fedora 44 (postgres 18 repo)
Date: Sun, 14 Jun 2026 16:10:36 -0500
Message-ID: <[email protected]> (raw)

Hello Postgres packagers,

After upgrading from Fedora 43 -> 44, I can no longer install patroni-consul:

```
 dnf install patroni-consul
Updating and loading repositories:
Repositories loaded.
Failed to resolve the transaction:
Problem: conflicting requests
  - nothing provides py-consul >= 1.6.0 needed by patroni-consul-4.1.2-3PGDG.f44.noarch from postgreSQL
  - nothing provides py-consul >= 1.6.0 needed by patroni-consul-4.1.3-1PGDG.f44.noarch from postgreSQL
You can try to add to command line:
  --skip-broken to skip uninstallable packages
```
This seems to be available on Fedora 43:

```
 dnf provides py-consul
Per https://git.postgresql.org/gitweb/?p=pgrpms.git;a=tree;f=rpm/redhat/main/common/py-consul/F-44;h=83a... , it looks like a spec file exists. Maybe something just needs to be republished?
Thanks for looking,
