em todas as máquinas fedora / centos que administro, elas chegam a ficar 
mais de ano sem serem reiniciadas.

o pacote do postgresql e o kernel do centos são muito bem empacotados, 
tenho certeza absoluta que deve estar faltando algum ajuste por ai.

seja aplicação mal desenvolvida ou tunning do banco de dados ou do 
proprio postgresql.
