Hi,

Finally, after some XFS crash recovery that nulled out innocent files, I
found some time to look into pljava again.

It seems that I don't get the gcj variant working any more, even with
makefile patches. The latest thing I get is an
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: _getConfigOption

The problem seems to be a rather radical change how gcj embedding code
has to be build, see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=390661

I'll try whether I can get the SUN JDK variant working, to have some
means to cross-check, and to make progress in the varlen type code
possible again.
