An experimental release would definitely help. ?I have some gentoo ebuilds I maintain for pljava-1.4.0 and would be happy to release new ones for pljava-1.4.2.
I make use of pljava heavily for my research project and am interested some of your ideas for further development, particularly the security infrastructure. ?I have a few ideas on how things could be handled and would be happy to help in the development of this part when you get to it.
Thanks,
Nathan

Not really.? There are quite a few things I'd like to do before releasing a Java 6 version on the unsuspecting world.? In no particular order:

o Implement the java.sql.SQLXML datatype as a thin layer to PostgreSQL's native XML type.? Possibly implementing StAX directly on top of libxml2.

o Clean up unsupported exceptions.

o Review/rework the security infrastructure.

o Implement methods that aren't supposed to throw unsupported exception when possible.

o Clean up some whitespace/coding conventions in the current JDBC 4 stubs.

In the mean time, will an "experimental" release help?
